“You put high heels on and you change”, said the Spanish fashion designer and the founder of the luxury shoe brand, Manolo Blahnik. I love heels and I wear them almost daily and the reason behind that is, it instantly pulls together all my outfits and makes me look presentable. Wearing high heels is never necessary but if you are reading this article, I am guessing you share the same love as me for these shoes invented by some brilliant man.

Below, I have presented you with some of the heels that help me get through life and hopefully having them as part of your wardrobe would never make you feel as if you don’t have shoes to match your outfit and occasion.

Black Pumps

Just like the LBD, this is a staple in every woman’s wardrobe; black pumps top my list and I 100% recommend owning a good quality pair of these heels. the versatility of this truly limitless, it can work with so many colors. Pairing black pumps with a nice little dress can make you look ready enough to hit the club while pairing them with a suitable outfit can make you look effortlessly stylish yet appropriate for your office hours. The good thing about black leather pumps is that it is available in a number of materials ranging from suede, leather to PU; you really won’t need to break the bank to get your hands on one of these pairs of heels. This is one classic piece that every woman should invest in, I promise, it will be worth it.

Nude heels

This one is my favorite because it is so effortless and chic. Nude is a hot favorite for many people and the most amazing thing about it is that it has a lot of diversity; you can have in front of you ten different colors and call all of them nude. Nude strappy heels, just like the black pumps, go with almost every outfit and are pretty versatile but there is one thing that unique to these heels is that it adds length to your legs. Nude heels come in different ways; if you are looking for something for the office, go for nude pumps but if you want to be a little chicer and casual, pair nude heeled sandals with some nice jeans. A rule of thumb that should be followed if you are looking to add some extra inches to your legs is opting for a nude that matches closest to your skin tone.

Wedges

Wedges are heels that distribute your weight, unlike other heels, making it one of the more comfortable options. For those of you who want the best of both worlds, I definitely would recommend that you buy a cute pair of these heels. wearing heels and tripping on almost every step is not very attractive and comfortable so wedges come as a lifesaver to those who are just starting out or have a tough time in general when it comes to walking in heels. Personally,  I really like wearing wedge sandals in the summer because they look the best with a casual sundress or maxi. Wedges are fun and cute but they can also make your feet comfortable while still giving you the extra height in an office setting if you opt for colors like black, navy or blue.

Mules

I own a lot of mule sandals; they are the easiest to slip on and make you look so stylish and edgy. I am usually in a rush in the mornings, so I always go for my mules and for those of you who are like me, you definitely need to buy yourself a couple of pairs of these; those extra few minutes saved are so worth it. Mules are timeless and they come in almost every color and materials like suede, leather, synthetic leather etc. One of my favorite types of mules to buy are the ones with embroidery on them; it adds just the right amount of drama to a monochrome outfit or what could have been a rather dull outfit. Pair mules with a midi skirt and a leather jacket for that extra style and edginess but if you are opting for a more formal look, go for some mules in solid colors and design.

Kitten heels

whenever I think of kitten heels, I remember Audrey Hepburn; kitten heels equal elegance and grace. These heels are definitely for those of you who neither like the chunky feel of wedge heel nor the uncomfortable heights of certain pumps. Kitten heels were first made for teens and young girls because high heels were considered too “grown up” for them but the time has changed and kitten heels have been accepted by all age groups as a smart, graceful and comfortable option. There are times when every woman wants to look elegant minus the discomfort or wants to go to casually relax on the weekend but still look dressy and kitten heels provide just the solution to such problems. The height of these heels is usually below two inches which makes them comfortable walking heels to run errands in.

Metallic heels

These are the fun heels that accompany you in your diva moments. Life gets a little dull at times and to add some shimmer and shine, these heels definitely need a space in your closet. Though metallic heels are usually preferred by people to be worn in the evening, it can also be teamed with the right colors to make it work as a perfect shoe to be worn during the day. Metallic heeled sandals work best with dresses and outfits while metallic pumps can be a little hard to pull off in general. Whenever I go out and wear something dressy for the evening, I almost always pick my silver heeled sandals but you can experiment with other fun metallic colors like gold, copper, cobalt blue etc.

There is a never-ending sea of heels of different types, colors, textures, and materials available for you to buy if you go out and look but we don’t live in a perfect world and sadly, we can’t own them all. I tried my best to come up with different types of heels that could get you through all the hectic, fun, and lazy moments of your life but at the end of the day, my most important recommendation for you would be to pick the heels that make you feel the most confident and fabulous in your own skin.

Hi, I am Renu Sharma and currently, I am 21 years old. I have pretty much been an introvert all my life so my thoughts, feelings, and opinions have usually just been limited to myself but fashion is just one of those things where I can't keep my mouth shut. why do I write? Because I enjoy helping others and just reading for myself became a little boring. I like to keep every piece of my writing personal and straightforward; I don’t and I can’t write for the sake of just putting a post up for a read.I like to write about fashion not just because I live, eat and breathe fashion but also because I believe in the saying by Edward Bulwer-Lytton, "the pen is mightier than the sword"; writing is one of the most powerful impactful tools ever created. Why am interested in fashion related writing? Well, that’s because like Confucius said, “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” Reading and writing about fashion and everything related to it makes me feel happy and content. In the end, I would just like to say that beauty and trends these days have a huge impact on boys and girls from a very young age. I feel that instead of just making an impact, it’s time for the trends to be looked at with more body and self-loving positivity with the aim of uplifting each and everyone regardless of their appearance, height, and size. Every flaw is a blessing; it’s just a matter of perspectives. Stay Beautiful xoxo
