Writing and editing have always been my main skills, and therefore I do not lose any opportunities to showcase my talent. I am a book worm and a grammar Nazi and where I come from, education is God. I’m not afraid to learn anything any new and I love to travel and meet new people.

Summers are probably the most favorite season around the globe. Especially with fashion, it finally gives us a chance to ditch all the coats and jackets and stuff and play around with more styles and trends. It gives us the freedom to let go of all the layers and soak in all the sun. Go to the beach, backpacking or trekking, or just relax at the poolside with friends and family. All this sounds very tempting, but it does come with its own set of worries. The scorching heat of the sun makes us sweaty and lazy, and so to help you out here are a few tips on how to make the best of this summer:

Keep it simple:

When summer comes knocking, it is very much essential that your style remains as minimal as possible. Whether it is clothes, makeup, hair, etc., simple and neutral looks help you to achieve maximum with the minimum. Stock up on a whole bunch of shirts, tees, skirts, jeans, shorts, tops and much more to make the perfect summer casual wardrobe. Of course, a white top and a matching pair of jeans are a must-have. If you have to go to work and have a long day to go through, with presentations and meetings and parties and what not, then make sure to reach out for crisp shirts and denim jackets and mid-length dresses for the ultimate professional look. Inspire others around you by pairing a striped suit with a casual tee or a denim blazer with jeans and printed tees. Wear your hair in a messy bun or sleek backed if you don’t want your tresses to disturb you, or if it’s an outing with friends then go for beach waves or straight bangs for a casual yet stylish look. Also, make sure to stay away from too much makeup. Ultra-glam may be your look, but keeping it neutral and simple will help you to last throughout the day without making your face look cakey.

Whether you are going to college or going to work, there are a few accessories which you must have at all times. Accessories have the power to lift up any look and make you go from drab to glam any time. And there is no need to buy expensive stuff to look like a million bucks. All you need to do is invest in a few high-quality items that not just make you fashionable but also goes a long way. For example, for the office going people, a white watch paired with a statement sunglasses can help you to glam up any time. You can upgrade this further by adding a fancy belt to your look and carrying a fashionable piece of purse or handbag that is not just good looking but also helps you to carry more around. Or, if you are going for a casual outing with friends or going for a shopping spree, then a floppy hat with big shades and open-toed sandals or flip-flops will not only help to look on point but also make sure you stay comfortable all day. Or you can glam up your evening with a statement cuff and a mini-purse. Whatever you choose, just make sure that you are comfortable in wearing it on a hot day.

 What clothes to wear

When it comes to choosing what to wear, it can be a difficult choice, especially in summer. Wearing shorts and skirts and open tops all the time can be a bit problematic as it might expose you to a lot of harmful rays of the sun and give you tans and burns. Even if you make sure that you are wearing sunscreen, it can still be harmful. Therefore, it is better to choose clothes which are longer and cover most of your body but not very uncomfortable. Stay away from too many tight-fitting jeans and shorts and try to wear as much loose clothing as possible. Choose cotton fabric clothes rather than nylon or polyester as it will allow your skin to breathe and make you more comfortable throughout the day. Also, make sure to wear clothes with lighter shades and cool tones instead of too many bright colors or dark shades. Lighter colors mean less absorption of heat and it will keep you cooler the whole day. Pastel shades are very in this season and were seen on many runways for the spring/summer collection. So get inspired and wear what you feel good in!

Do not forget the essentials

Summers may be the time to enjoy, but there are a few things which you must always carry with you to make sure that you remain summer ready every day:

1.  Sunglasses:

These bad boys will not only help you to look glamorous but also help to protect your eyes from the harsh rays of the sun. It is almost incomplete to welcome summer without a pair of suitable shades to match all your outfits .

2.  Flats:

If you are one of those people who prefer comfort over fashion, then flats are the way to go. Opt for a few fashionable flats or open toed pumps that you can walk in all day without your legs complaining.

3.  Sunscreen:

This is probably a no-brainer. Sunscreen is an essential part of every woman’s kitty and with the heat getting worse and worse every year, it is very important to be prepared at all times.

4.  Umbrella:

This may not be very necessary, but it does give you a little extra protection while you are out on the town. Investing in a summer umbrella is a good choice because it will help you to protect the exposed parts of your body and help you from not tanning too much.

5.  Always carry water:

It might be a bit cumbersome to carry so many things around especially in summer, but water is one of those essentials that will keep you lasting the whole day. In fact, you should carry an extra bottle just in case. Keeping yourself refreshed and hydrated is always necessary, and therefore a must-have in your bag.
